In 1986, a truck driver in Taiwan, China, Wang Ching Fu could not go out because of the typhoon, at home to help his wife braid inspiration, the Malabar chestnut planted in a pot, and their branches twisted together in the shape of a braid, named “Fortune Tree” for sale, a big hit. From then on, the Malabar chestnut was called the “Fortune Tree”, with the auspicious meaning of “Congratulations and Fortune”.
